Ranking on Google After the Penguin Attack of 2013

As a business owner I can share sympathy to those companies who completely went under when the Panda and Penguin attack came from Google CEO’s and destroyed hundreds of thousands of website rankings around the internet. It all started in April of 2012, when the first Penguin algorithm update was released.

This update changed the way websites were ranked on Google and thousands of businesses lost their rankings overnight. There was massive chaos in the internet marketing world and there is simply nothing that can be done for spammy back-link masters (honestly the same as I used to be) as their businesses died out one by one.

My rankings were hit as soon as I started back linking in “the new era” of the Google Penguin-oclypse. You either had to adapt and survive or your business would fall completely, so what do you think I did? I adapted, duh! I wasn’t about to let Google dictate whether my business stayed alive or not.

In reality I used to nearly 100% rely on Google for new traffic. I wasn’t at a point in my life where I knew how to break out of my shell and find new alternative ways to promote myself. What’s funny is I actually doubled the amount of money I was making per month over night simply by getting involved and finding new ways to promote.

It’s funny how desperation will make a man do brilliant things. I have a family to feed and failing simply isn’t an option for me, I have to make my way in this world the same as the rest of us. I developed new strategies, such as Twitter domination and selling $800 products for the first time. I couldn’t believe the success I started seeing as Google dropped me off the face of the Earth.

Then, something funny happened a while later…

I decided I was going to try to get my rankings back. And I didn’t want to wait: I wanted my rankings back overnight. I developed a new plan to push my website up in the charts on Google and I ended up finally, FINALLY seeing success! Look below at my Rank Tracker results for just a few weeks later…

7 Days Later, Tons of Rankings Returned from Google

Just 1 Day After That, Even More Rankings Flew Up

And in the End, All my Rankings Came Right on Back

Also, FYI, I talked about all of this in my awesome course Viral Google Domination, so feel free to check it out. You can learn a lot from that course, it’s truly the best SEO course I have released.

Since then I haven’t done any SEO for my site, as I said I have been completely focused on entering a new niche which is going to be even more profitable for me. I have a budget saved up and I am quite frankly starting a brand new business. Slowly but surely my rankings fell, just one or two points at a time, until a few months later we were back to nothing. I learned if I didn’t keep up the back linking, there wouldn’t be rankings to be had. Here’s what I realized very quickly, right after seeing these results.

1. I learned that the old ways of SEO were dead, and only natural link building would work
2. I quickly learned that 100% natural links are 50x more powerful than spammy weak links

This blog post was written for one reason and one reason alone. I know you are wanting to rank on Google and sell more beats. You probably realize that ranking on Google means that you are going to have leads coming onto your website every day from a very high quality source. If a potential client goes onto Google and types in “Buy Beats” or “Beats for Sale” and your website showed up as #1, don’t you think you’d be getting good leads from that search?

What’s awesome about this is that you can actually do it absolutely free! There is no reason for you to pay any expensive SEO company or otherwise to enable you to make money on the internet.

Here is the trick:

A. Write a very long 800-1000 word blog post on your website. Have internal links for it as well. Boost social sharing by either asking for shares or sharing it yourself across social networks. You want to get social engagement on your website’s blog post to help you rank.

B. Promote for social sharing, add pictures, internal links, external links, etc. Make sure that content is king. It seems that Google is increasingly caring more about a website’s content than anything else. That’s why Wikipedia’s structure has been ranking throughout all the Penguin updates. Every single post is full of useful information and internal page links to other posts.

C. Rinse, wash and repeat! Make sure to get a good amount of social shares on each on of your blog posts to help it rise. Back linking is also an essential part to the process, but instead of wasting your time doing spam back links all over the internet, you should focus in on promoting individual blog posts on sites such as WordPress.com and Squidoo. Make the best posts possible, with link structures like we talked about.

D. Make sure your links are randomized. You don’t want to put up a bunch of links with the same anchor text anymore, that simply doesn’t work. Instead go ahead and post up 30% website links, such as YourSite.com, www.YourSite.com, http://YourSite.com, etc. You want your back links to appear as natural as possible. Only focus 5%-10% on your main keyword. The rest should be pointed towards LSI keywords (related keywords).

E. Once the traffic is coming in, deliver sales. I recommend using MyFlashStore.net for your beat selling needs.

This all together should be enough to help you rank!
